Lucendia "C.C." Sue Cawood, 70, passed away Sunday, August 2 at UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY. She is preceded in death by her father, Green Cawood and a grandson, Aaron Bach. She is survived by her mother, Thelma Cawood of Prestonsburg, KY; a brother, Green Cawood, Jr., of Vail, AZ; and a sister, Denise Wells of East Point, KY. "C.C.", as she was affectionately known by many, is also survived by 3 daughters, Renee (Richard) White of Clarksville, TN; Rebecca (Dee) Hall of Allen, KY; Jody Swanson of Good Year, AZ; and a son, William (Christina) Frausto of Good Year, AZ and a step son, Jason Zwart. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Kayla Dames, Seth Bach, Jordan Shepherd, Raina and Seraphina Frausto, Tiffany and Tyler Sullivan and 1 great grandchild, Henry Shepherd. "C.C." was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan, but has spent the last 24 years here in Prestonsburg, KY. Before she found her way to the hills of Eastern KY, when her kids were little, she owned a bar in New York called the Cat's Paw. No stranger to hard work, she bar-tended at her bar and starting instilling in her children at a young age what it meant to be strong and to strive towards what you believe in. The last years of "C.C.'s" life, she enjoyed gardening and gaming on her tablet. She recently got a puppy, "Bear", who was the light of her life and the first thing to call her very own. She fought up until the very end and in doing so has shown all those that love her how to remain strong and to keep fighting until the end. She fought the good fight, she has finished the race and she kept the faith. She will be missed by so many. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, August 15 from 2-5 p.m. under the loving and professional care of Carter Funeral Home.
