William " Bill" May passed away peacefully from this life at 1:15pm on Saturday, June 27,2020. Bill was surrounded by several members of his family at his passing. He was preceded in death by his father Elijah Brown "E.B." May, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Edna Lynn May of Prestonsburg; two sons and their spouses, William "Chip" May II and Terri May of Lexington and Jon T. May and Kimberly May of Shelbyville; his six grandchildren, Zachary and Stephanie May, of Oxford, NC, Darian May, Joshua May, all of Lexington, Ryland May and Logan May of Shelbyville; his great grandchild, Ezra B. May of Lexington; his mother, Allie Ann May of Prestonsburg and his four brothers, George D. and Sharon May and Gary A. and Linda May of Prestonsburg, Charles E. "Chuck" and Lynn May of Lexington and Les " Bear" May of Madisonville. Bill retired from CAM Mining in December of 2018, after more than 37 years with the company and it's predecessors. Bill enjoyed fishing, riding around on the John Deere mower pretending to cut grass, spending time with his family and watching Fox news. He was loved by many and will be truly missed. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8pm at Community United Methodist Church. Funeral will be at 1pm Monday at Community United Methodist Church at Prestonsburg, kY with Rev. John Carwell and Pastor Andrew Donner officiating. In lieu of flowers family asks that donations be made to Appalachian Hospice or Community United Methodist Church of Prestonsburg, Ky.
