Fred R. Cottrell, Jr., 65, passed away Monday, May 18 at his home. Born in Prestonsburg on January 5, 1955, he remained here and worked at the County Court Clerk's office for over 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred R. Cottrell and Madelyn Boyd and a sister, Betsy C. Schoolcraft. He is survived by a sister, Carolyn C. DelBello, 2 sons, Justin (Autumn) and their dogs, Isabelle and Holly of La Grange, KY; Neil Cottrell; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Services will be limited to close family only abiding with Federal regulations due to COVID19 under the loving and professional care of Carter Funeral Home. Fred's final resting place will be at Richmond Memorial Cemetery in Prestonsburg, KY. Family has requested that expressions of love and sympathy be made in the form of donations to the Floyd County Animal Shelter located on Sally Stephens Branch, Prestonsburg, KY.
