Obituary for Fred L Goble

Today brought a sad milestone for our family as we are grieving the loss of our father.
Fred L. Goble known by all that loved him as “Pappy” was born 11/11/1929 and died 05/06/2020 five months after the passing of his beloved wife of 70 yrs Anna Mae, our dear mother.
He leaves us all with a legacy of fun, laughter and practical jokes which have already been shown to exist in his great granddaughter Hayes. He always had a big smile on his face and a good story from his heart.
In February 1958, he joined several men in the community who worked day and night to rescue and recover the children involved in the tragic bus wreck. He was one of the founding members of the Floyd Co Rescue squad which was formed as a result of the accident. He was the last surviving founding member of the squad.
Pappy had many hobbies, he became a pilot, was an excellent marksman, he loved golf, fishing and traveling. During his travels he experienced first hand the Challenger disaster at Cape Canaveral, the MGM hotel fire, and the Indy 500 Pace car accident.
He worked hard as a child and continued the same work ethic as an adult. He was a welder and was known as one of the best around . Later he used these skills and started his own company Valley Pipelines Inc.
He will always be our champion and hero and we find comfort that he is reunited with our mom in heaven.
