Albert "Albie" Archer Burchett, 81, passed away, Saturday, January 18, at Pikeville Medical Center following a sudden illness. He was born on April 22, 1938, at his parent's home at Sugarloaf and has lived most of his life in Prestonsburg, KY. He graduated in 1964 with a Juris Doctorate Degree and practiced law for 50 years in the state of Kentucky. He was a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and Stone Crest Golf Club. He is survived by the love of his life, Bette Martin Burchett, 2 brothers, Joe "Bucky" Arthur (Barbara) and Paul Preston (Sharon) Burchett, 2 sons, Joe Wheeler (Amber) Burchett II and Jason Andrew Burchett, 2 daughters, Jamie Dawn McQueen and Stayce Elizabeth McQueen. He is also survived by 6 granddaughters, Jette, Carly and Bella Burchett; Shannon and Ali Derham; Ashleigh Riffe; and 1 grandson, Nick Derham and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other loved ones. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 21, from 6 until 9 p.m. under the loving and professional care of Carter Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 22 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist (Irene Cole Memorial) Church in Prestonsburg. Family have requested that instead of flowers, expressions of love and sympathy should take form as donations to the First Baptist Church 157 S. Front Street Prestonsburg, KY.
