Garnett Spradlin Fairchild,96, born in Prestonsburg on January 15, 1923, passed away Wednesday, July 10 in Lexington, KY. She is preceded in death by her husband, LB Fairchild, who passed away on July 26, 1989. Garnett is survived by a son, William P. Fairchild (Ruth Anne) of Lexington, KY and 2 grandchildren, Mary C. Roberts of New Port Richie, FL and Roger D. Akers II of Lexington ,KY. Visitation will be Saturday, July 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. under the loving and professional care of Carter Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 13 at 1 p.m. at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel with Kevin Jett officiating with burial following at the Richmond Cemetery, Prestonsburg, KY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Big Sandy-Hager Hill, KY; Hospice of the Bluegrass-Lexington, KY and The Alzheimer's Association-Lexington, KY.
