Obituary for Floyd Douglas Davis

Floyd Douglas Davis, 67, born August 20, 1951 of David, KY, passed away Friday, May 3 at his residence. A beloved member of his community, Floyd was an educator and community activist. He was also a founding member of The Friends of The Middle Creek Battlefield and the current historian of the First United Methodist Church in Prestonsburg, He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Davis and Edna Mae (Castle) Davis. Floyd is survived by his wife, Nancy Carol (Warrix) Davis, his daughter, Rachel Nichole Isaacs, his son, Floyd Patrick Davis, his granddaughter, Ava Mae Isaacs, his sister, Judith Davis (Cecil) Hamm of Winchester, his nieces, Elizabeth and Anita plus a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, May 4 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Sunday, May 5, starting at 1 p.m. and continuing up until the time of service at 4 p.m under the professional and dignified care of Carter Funeral Home. Floyd Davis will be laid to rest in Davidson Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, family have requested that donations be made to The David School 352 Success Bound Rd David, KY 41616.
