Betty Jewel Davis Francis, 90 years of age, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Highlands Regional Medical Center. Born October 23, 1928 in Prestonsburg, KY, she was the daughter of the late Richard"Dick" Davis and Lucille Osborn Davis. In addition to her husband, Hubbard"Huck" Francis who died January 16, 1989, Betty was preceded in death by a grandson, Shadrick "Shad" Daniel Vickers and 2 sisters, Sylvia Helen Davis and Nora Ann Long. Survivors include 2 daughters, Carol Susan Martin and husband, Bill, of Lexington, KY, Helen Ann Vickers and husband, Garry, of Lancaster, KY, 2 granddaughters, Sarah Ison and husband, Montez, Brooke Bucher and husband, Brian, 4 grandsons: Paul P. Burchett, Jr. and wife, Erin, Brad Burchett and wife, Jenny, Joey Martin and wife, Leslie and Ben Martin and wife, Jennifer. Also surviving are 25 great grandchildren. She was a member of the First Baptist Church(Irene Cole Memorial ) and was a teacher at the First Baptist Learning Center.Visitation will be at the First Baptist Church(Irene Cole Memorial) 3-9pm Friday, January 18. Funeral services will be 11am Saturday, January 19 at the church with Rev. Steve Hopkins and Rev Tom Biddle officiating. Burial will be in the Davis Cemetery in Prestonsburg. Active Pallbearers include: Eddie Clark, Joey Hyden, Andy Elliott, Jimmy Blackburn, Tyler Burke, Rob Shepherd, Mark Miller, and Taylor Clark. Honorary Pallbearers are: Dickie Jarvis, Hansel Cooley, David Miller, Robert Marshall, Gus Kalos, Michell Kalos, Todd Clark and Barry Rice. In lieu of flowers, family has requested memorials to the First Baptist Learning Center, 157 S. Front Street, Prestonsburg, KY 41653.
