Margaret Jane (Davis) Howard, 88, passed away Friday, May 11, at Highlands Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. The widow of Judge Harris Stephens Howard, Jane was a beloved wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, John Woodford Howard II, a brother, Ray Edward Davis and both parents, Ralph Davis, Sr. and Myrtie Hill Davis. She is survived by a son, Harris Stephens (Lee) Howard, a daughter, Rebecca Vanessa L. Howard, a brother, Ralph B. (Ann) Davis, Jr. and a grandson, Jonathan Edward Howard O'Bryan. Visitation will be Saturday, May 19, from 12 noon until 2 p.m. with the funeral following at 2 at Carter Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Mayo Cemetery in Prestonsburg. In lieu of flowers, family has requested contributions be made to Shriners Hospital for Children or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Family has entrusted arrangements to Carter Funeral Home in Prestonsburg.
