Orella Burchett McGuire, 89 years of age, passed away Tuesday,May 19, 2015 at her residence. Born December 16, 1925 in Prestonsburg, she was the daughter of the late William Lee Burchett and Anna Wells Burchett. She was a member of the Prestonsburg First Christian Church and was a former Elementary Teacher employed by the Floyd County Board of Education. Survivors include her husband Tom Oak McGuire of Prestonsburg, 2 sons, Dr. Tom Oak McGuire , Jr. and his wife Shelley of Pikeville, KY, Mark McGuire and his wife Paula of Lexington, KY, 1 brother, Robert Lee Burchett of Prestonsburg; 4 grandchildren: Emily, Sarah, Shane and Nicholas and 3 great grandchildren: Blake, Jayne and Kathryn. The family has suggested memorial conributions to the First Christian Church, 625 North Arnold Ave., Prestonsburg, KY 41653.
