John W. Burke, Sr., 93, of Prestonsburg, passed away Saturday, Dec. 9 at Highlands Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 9 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at the Community United Methodist Church on Sunday, Dec. 10 at 3 p.m. He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen May Burke, and 4 sisters (Goldie Davidson, Ruby Logan, Ethel Burke and Edna Saunders) and 3 brothers (Hearn Burke, Joe Burke and Heber Burke). He is survived by a son, John (Debra) W. Burke, Jr., 3 grandchildren (Rhiannon Owens, Jessi Burke and Tyler John Burke) and 3 great grandchildren (Ireland, Tanner and Walker Owens).
