Burieta Gearhart, 89 years of age, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014, at University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
Born September 3, 1924, at Watergap, she was the daughter of the late Elzie L. Gearhart and Angie B. Gearhart. She attended Berea College. She was a former Vice President and Controller with The Bank Josephine, was the oldest member of the First Baptist Church in Prestonsburg and was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star ADAH Chapter #24, a member of the Miriam Rebecca's and a member of the Prestonsburg Women's Club.
Burita was preceded in death by a brother, Estill Gearhart and a sister, Clara Gearhart Warrix.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 11am at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Workman officiating. Burial was in the Gearhart Family Cemetery in Prestonsburg, KY.
